Mr. Jenkins was allowed out of North Korea in July to see his wife, and decided not to return. Currently in a Tokyo hospital and preparing himself for a likely US military court martial, he told the Hong Kong-based Far Eastern Economic Review that, far from collaborating with Kim Jong-il's Stalinist regime, he hated it.
