Service is used by more than 300 publications in 85 countries, and its stories are read by 100 million people
each month.

London correspondent (September 2005 to present) IDG News Service is a technology wire service that
serves magazines published by International Data Group such as PC World, Computer
world and InfoWorld. I
cover a broad range of technology issues and companies, from computer security and open-source software
to the latest development from Microsoft Corp. I travel through Europe to cover technology conferences,
filing several stories daily consisting of breaking news and analysis.

Freelance journalist (August 2004 to August 2005) I was a freelance journalist based in Seoul, writing for
publications such as the Far Eastern Economic Review, Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, Newsday,
San Francisco Chronicle and the Asia Times Online.

Pacific Stars and Stripes, Unit 45002 APO AP 96337-5002. Pacific Stars and Stripes is a 20,000-circulation
daily newspaper serving the U.S. military community in South Korea and Japan.

Seoul correspondent (July 1999 to August 2004) At Pacific Stars and Stripes, I was a full-time reporter,
covering three U.S. military commands and North Korean affairs in Seoul, South Korea. I was responsible for
generating lively copy that affects the daily lives of the men and women serving in the armed forces. The job
required acute attention to detail, speed and perseverance.

The Journal Star, 1 News Plaza, Peoria, IL 61643. The Journal Star is a 90,000-circulation daily newspaper
with a 109,000 Sunday circulation.

Staff writer (August 1997 to June 1999) At the Journal Star, I was a full-time reporter, covering two
northern counties for the paper. I was responsible for coming up with fresh stories that probed deeper than
smaller, local papers in the area. I covered courts, city and county meetings in addition to generating solid
feature stories that reflected the area’s unique character.

Inland Press Association, 2360 E. Devon Ave., Suite 3011, Des Plaines, IL 60018. Inland Press Association is
a newspaper trade association that serves over 860 newspapers in the United States and Canada.

Associate editor (September 1996 to June 1997) At Inland, I was responsible for copy editing and writing in-
depth stories for our trade journal, The Inlander. The Inlander serves as a source for ideas for its member
papers, and its topics range from advertising to circulation to online technology. It is designed to help
newspapers improve news writing and business operations.
